Plan a DIY gable shed
Shed Planner frames a wood gable shed to your size. Enter the footprint and wall height, pick a foundation, and add doors and windows. The planner sizes the floor joists, headers and rafters for your snow load, lays out every stud, and lists every piece of lumber to cut. Everything is a preliminary DIY estimate: your building department sets the final requirements.
1. Size it
Width across the gable, depth along the ridge, and the wall height.
2. Set the foundation
Skids on gravel, deck blocks, concrete piers or a slab.
3. Add doors & windows
Place each rough opening on a wall. Headers and cripples are framed for you.
4. Check, buy and build
Fix anything the fit check flags, then work from the plans, cut list, shopping list and build steps.
