These terms apply to your use of BuildPlanners.com and its planners (the "site"). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
What the site is
BuildPlanners provides free browser-based tools that turn the measurements and options you enter into 3D models, drawings, cut lists, quantities, cost estimates and printable reports. We may change, add or remove planners and features at any time.
Estimates only — not professional advice
- The plans, spans, sizes, loads, footing sizes, quantities and code checks are simplified estimates based on typical values. They are not an engineered design and have not been reviewed by an engineer, architect or building official for your project.
- Building codes, soils, frost depths, snow and wind loads, lumber grades, fasteners and site conditions vary. The "fit check" flags common issues but cannot catch every problem.
- Prices are approximate retail prices that vary by region, store and date. Quantities include assumptions about waste and stock lengths. Always confirm before you buy.
- You are responsible for verifying everything before you build, and for complying with all laws, codes, permits, HOA rules and property lines that apply to you.
No warranty
The site and everything it produces are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement. We don't promise the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BuildPlanners and the people who operate it are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages — including property damage, personal injury, cost overruns, or the cost of materials or rework — arising from your use of the site or of any plan, estimate or report it produces. If any liability is found despite this, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the site, which is zero. Some places don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
Affiliate links and third-party sites
Some links on the site are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. BuildPlanners.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. We also earn commissions from The Home Depot and other retailers through the Impact affiliate network.
Links to other sites are provided for convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, products, prices, availability or policies. Purchases you make there are between you and the retailer. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners and don't imply endorsement.
Acceptable use
Please don't misuse the site — for example by attempting to disrupt or overload it, probing it for vulnerabilities, scraping it at scale, or using it to send spam through the report form.
Your designs and our content
The designs, plans and reports you create with the planners are yours to use for your own projects and to share. The site itself — its software, design, text and graphics — belongs to BuildPlanners and may not be copied, resold or republished without permission.

Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and of the province in which BuildPlanners is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
